Guidance and Safety

Protecting skin and eyes

UV radiation is easily absorbed by clothing, plastic or glass. Once absorbed, UV radiation is no longer active. When working with open UV radiation during maintenance, service or other situations, personal protective equipment covering all exposed areas is recommended. Because SafeCode is a handheld device, simple training guidelines for employees can ensure that your team knows how to best avoid pointing it at unprotected skin or eyes. The Bloc bares no responsibility for the safety and training of those who manufacture SafeCode technology outside of our own facilities, or for the employees of any organizations that implement SafeCode in their practice.

Safe for surface protection

According to Science Magazine, a publication of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, UV light is a highly effective and widely accepted way to kill microbes. The light “disrupts the molecular bonds that hold together microbial genetic material or proteins.” While it is recommended that workers adhere to safety protocols including wearing gloves to avoid exposure to UV-C rays, UV-C light is considered safe for surface protection by the FDA.
